Ronan Cronk Skiing

Just spend 4 days with my 10 year old boy Ronan skiing in Gudauri.
Taylor was extremely helpful and efficient in the booking process,
Chris was Ronan's instructor. Chris was fantastic in all ways. Very methodical, safety conscious and a wonderful skiing mentor. A very nice chap as well!!
Wthin 3 days Ronan was confidently blasting down the slopes with a huge smile on his face!!!
We will be back!!

So much fun

Bumped into Levi by accident ib Gudairi and got a lesson. First time ever on a pair of skis and he literally got me down the whole blue route in the first day! Lots of laughing, all the encouragement and great fun. Can recommend him as an instructor to any newbie. He has all the patience in the world.

Thank you

Had fun session with instructor Levi for two days.
As a beginner of snowboarding, it is very important for me to keep the interest level high and embrace the mistake and little bit of frustration from not being good at it YET.
It was a brilliant time appreciating the beautiful nature and finding the snowboarding really fun and enjoyable. Thanks!

5 Star Experience

I am currently cycling round the world and had been looking for somewhere to learn to ski en route. Thankfully I came across Vagabond ski and after some quick and efficient communication with Taylor we arranged 3 half day ski lessons. As an English speaking beginner it was important that communication wouldn’t be an issue wile I was learning. My first day with Eva exceeded all expectations and by the end of the lesson I was attempting parallel turns thanks to her encouragement and help. Louis was my instructor on the second day and his laid back style really improved my confidence and our run down a blue at the end of the lesson was a real highlight in my progression. That afternoon involved practicing my parallel turns on blue runs and I had felt that the first 2 lessons had gone so well that on the third day I would try snowboarding. Levi was my instructor for this and he was even cool with my girlfriend coming along for some tips. He was really patient despite my struggles and his infectious love for snowboarding ensured I had a great lesson (including the falls)! Overall I would highly recommend booking lessons with Vagabond. All the jnstructors I met were so friendly and gre at teachers. The 3 half day lessons proved excellent value for money. I will definitely be taking all the skills and confidence I learned next time I am skiing or snowboarding. We also had a great night hanging out with Taylor and the instructors discussing travels and drinking together. This added to an unforgettable 3 days in Gudauri.

Skiing classes

We went to Gudauri for three days, so my daughters could have their first approach on skiing. They had a three half day lessons with Levi, who was incredible with them. They both loved the lessons and had a great time. Totally recommend!

Is 6 stars an option?

To say that Taylor is an amazing ski instructor would not do justice to what he has been for me. Since my first contact with him by WhatsApp (following a friend’s recommendation), through each of our lessons, he has exceeded all of my expectations. By way of context, when I arrived in Gudauri, I could not ski. My stretch goal for the end of the 4 days here was to learn to parallel turn (though I was keeping my ambitions in check!). With Taylor’s help, I was making parallel turns by the end of day 1, skiing blue runs by the morning of day 3 and doing the red runs on my fourth day! Of course there were falls (all part of the fun) moments of panic (largely from overthinking things), but what stands out the most is the laughter, the feeling of accomplishment, the incredible Georgian food that Taylor introduced me to and even a night out sampling some local Chacha (dangerous stuff...). I have a long way to go with skiing (body positioning, speed, spins, jumps, black runs off piste...) and I cannot wait to continue my lessons with Taylor when I return to Gudauri.

thanks again

Melody, thank you once again! Today is an awesome day! Thank you!

Ok I came to Gudauri not really for skiing but actually for my first snow experience!!! But really theres nothing to do in Gudauri in winter except from skiing and snowboarding otherwise you can just hang around and watch everybody ski and snowboard while having mulled wine, hot chocolate or tea. So I booked myself for my first ski lesson and my first ever ski instructor was Taylor. Taylor is American so it was pretty easy to communicate and comprehend everything he's trying to teach me. He was kind and gentleman enough to carry my ski for me a couple times which was really helpful as it is pretty heavy, plus i wasn't eating properly in my first few days in Gudauri so I didn't really have that much energy to carry stuff! So he taught me all the basic stuff I have to know about skiing.. how to wear skis specially when your ski boots are covered with snow, how to stop forming your ski like a pizza or pie (he calls it pizza), how to turn right and left. Turning was pretty hard specially when its steep and I get pretty scared... It was so frustrating coz I kept falling and crashing to him! haha But I was at ease and comfortable with Taylor that I wasn't embarrassed at all no matter how many times I fell on my face. But the best thing about Taylor is he encouraged me to try and try again till I get it right and get over my fear.. so with what he's telling me, it was pretty clear that my instructor thinks that I can do it so I never gave up. Taylor had to leave for a trip but I was lucky enough to have had probably 3 to 4 lessons with him. Enough to get me started and make me love to ski. So I had a few more lessons while he was away and I'm really happy that I kept on coz I knew I could be better coz my instructor believed so! Skiing is so much fun! Not to mention the beautiful mountain view while you ski downhill! Now, Ill always want to ski every winter season. So if you wanna try skiing.. This guy right here is absolutely fun to ski with and will make you believe that you can be a good skier. Oh and he communicates a lot! That kinda built the instructor-student relationship. And the friendship too!!! 🙂 I highly recommend Taylor as your first ever Ski Instructor! You wont regret it I promise!!!

Had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the ski lessons with Dan and Melody. Thanks and hopefully see you soon.
